Black on white, the line drawn by the animal. Faced in natural hair-on cowhide, an ink-dark patch spilling across a chalk field, framed by firm black binding that holds the shape true. The hair has weight and direction: smooth under the thumb one way, bristling the other. The marking belongs to one hide and one animal.
